About Ourselves...
Enterprise
International specialises in consultancy, technical assistance and
the management and delivery of innovative economic development
programmes. In addition, it has considerable experience in trade and
investment and business-to-business co-operation on a worldwide
basis.

We develop
strategies and assist people who are involved in regional
restructuring to develop institutions, programmes and human
capacities. Strategies often include the need for various forms of
partnerships between public and private sectors, an area in which we
have particular expertise.
Though we do
not provide finance ourselves outside the UK, we advise on the most
appropriate finance for economic development, especially to maximise
public and private sector partnership.
Over the last
15 years we have become the UK experts in the strategies,
fund-raising and effective programme management for the EU’s
Structural Funds. We see this expertise as being especially useful
in the Accession countries of Central Europe.
Political,
economic and social change inevitably poses challenges for central,
regional and local government. We have worked at all levels of
government, but especially with regional and local government, to
development economic and social strategies and to adapt and develop
institutions for the new responsibilities that are demanded.
Our core
experience is in supporting the development of the private sector
and especially micro, small and medium sized businesses. We have
assisted in policy, training, workspace, industrial parks,
information services, small business agencies, as well as with
specific groups in the labour market, for example women
entrepreneurs.
We have a
particular expertise in assisting technology based businesses. In
the UK we are responsible for some of the most advanced measures for
combining space, consultancy and innovation funds for new,
competitive business development. This expertise is now widely
demanded in international programmes.
Our practical
track record in establishing and managing a wide range of funds for
micro and small businesses possibly cannot be matched in Europe. We
can assist in strategy, and design, establishing funds and the
related training, and in evaluation.
There is a
concern for job creation in all communities and we have worked to
encourage new approaches to job creation, as well as targeting
support for example to long - term unemployed people. We have also
worked in communities which have had to change fundamentally and
this has involved major restructuring programmes.
We have not
only assisted particular industries with restructuring strategies,
especially to maximise the potential for spin outs, but we have
assisted whole communities to make the transition from dependencies
on a particular industry towards a more diversified economic base.
We have worked to support such change in Slavutich, the home of the
Chernobyl Nuclear Power station workers.
Our sector
specialties are in coal, automotive industries, engineering,
textiles and tourism. We also have a particular expertise in coastal
zone management, based on over a decade of experience throughout
Europe’s coastal areas.
Everything we
do involves human resource development. We have wide experience in
strategies relating the enabling skills for development: training
and consultancy skills; business training; and management
development programmes utilising the most advanced interactive and
learning - from - experience approaches.
We have a long
track record of encouraging locally - based, ‘bottom up’ approaches
to development, in order to maximise long term sustainability and
the inclusion of groups of people, often excluded from mainstream
economic development programmes, the poorest and most vulnerable in
the community.
